I haven't been blogging too much lately on this site, for several reasons. I sailed through autumn working diligently on this painting, until Thanksgiving hit. When you host large gatherings, it is customary to clean and organize the house. Some go so far as to purchase a new couch, or to renovate. Since I live in an ongoing renovation project, that last one is what happened. It was time to turn the cat room into the home gym. This required sanding and refinishing the floors, spackling and painting, and moving furniture. I took the opportunity to reorganize the art studio using some of the furniture. To make things more complicated, we tried to also install new flooring in the TV room. Long story short, I took a much needed break from this painting between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

In addition, I recently discovered Steemit, the social media based on a blockchain, the technology behind bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I am very intrigued by the idea of controlling my own content, without advertising, without spam, without my information being compromised by unscrupulous social media companies.
